SOP for Cleaning of Gas Chromatograph (Head Space)

1.0 OBJECTIVE

To lay down the procedure for cleaning of headspace gas chromatograph.

2.0 SCOPE

This procedure is applicable to clean the gas chromatograph, installed in the quality control department.

3.0 RESPONSIBILITY

3.1 Doing: Technical Assistant, Executive
3.2 Checking: Executive/Manager

4.0 ACCOUNTABILITY

5.0 PROCEDURE

5.1 Switch ‘OFF ’ the instrument.
5.2 Switch ‘OFF’ the Mains.
5.3 Clean the outer surface of the instrument with a dry clean cotton cloth.
5.4 Wash the syringe with distilled water for several times.
5.5 Flush the column with the carrier gas for stabilization column.
5.6 Clean the headspace autosampler vial with D.M.water for several times and dry the vial in the oven for further use.
